Day 1: 19th July 2010
The official start day of Nic's Blackwood Marathon Training 15 weeks till the event. I was really lucky to have a weekend away at Preston Beach as a good relax before the training starts, and I am so glad at starting training especially after one night whilst at Preston Beach having to settle for white bread, bacon and eggs for dinner (not a lot open after 7.30pm on a saturday night at Preston Beach so the restaurant were kind enought to give us a breakfast pack for dinner!!! Agghhhh white bread and bacon yuck!!) But so grateful that they could give us something. Ah well training starts now.
My first week and day of the lead up so I can schedule my training for the week in the past I have tried to do for the whole lead up but get dissapointed and annoyed when things don't go to plan so a week seems to be working well. I still want to keep my heavy leg training up as i love training legs!!! And I am not being sarcastic. Can't beat a good squat!!!
So leg training today consisted of Deep heavy squats, multi directional lunges, heavy step ups, and box jumps finish with a few yoga stretches bliss!!! Was happy with session could have done more on the sqauts but form was spot on.
Swimming practice at night, oh my god what a sessions Kay did not let us come up for air but we were spoilt with the luxury of swimming in the 25 metre pool it was like a bath compared to the 50 metre. A great swimming session, heaps of sprints. Will sleep well tonight
